Job description and responsibilities

Within a cross-functional Agile team, as a Tech Lead / Senior Java Engineer, you will be the technical backbone of the team — guiding architectural decisions, ensuring code quality, and mentoring your fellow developers. You will bridge the gap between product vision and technical execution, while remaining a hands-on contributor.

As part of your missions, you will:

•Define and drive the technical strategy of the team, proposing improvements and aligning on architectural directions.

•Prioritize technical tasks and balance new feature development with technical debt reduction.

•Guarantee the team’s technical delivery in close coordination with the Product Owner.

•Conduct and animate code reviews, pair programming sessions, and technical stand-ups.

•Resolve complex technical problems and support the team during incident resolution.

•Ensure code quality through reviews, best practices, and automated quality gates.

•Monitor quality and performance metrics across environments, including production.

•Collaborate with the Product Owner to clarify the technical requirements of user stories.

•Coordinate with other technical teams to manage cross-team dependencies.

•Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines, code analysis tools, and development environments.

•Document code, APIs, and significant architectural decisions.

•Lead continuous improvement initiatives: retrospectives, process enhancements, tooling.

•Mentor software developers and support their technical growth.

•Contribute to technical visibility through meetups, internal knowledge-sharing sessions, or open source.

What we are looking for

•Strong Java development background (7+ years), with solid expertise in Java 11/17/21 and Spring Boot.

•Proven experience as a Tech Lead or Senior Engineer guiding a development team.

•Deep understanding of software architecture: microservices, REST APIs, domain-driven design.

•Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Redis).

•Good command of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins or GitLab CI, SonarQube).

•Strong testing culture: JUnit, Mockito, integration tests, TDD/BDD.

•Familiarity with security best practices (OWASP, OAuth2/JWT, vulnerability management).

•Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and facilitating technical ceremonies.

•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to make fast, informed decisions.

•Good verbal and written communication skills in French (English is a plus).

Nice to have

•Experience with API design and API gateway solutions (e.g., Gravitee, Kong, Apigee).

•Knowledge of performance profiling and monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, Datadog, Grafana, ELK).

•Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

•Experience working in distributed or international teams.
